Baby led weaning and toddler meal times made easier with our range of B.Box feeding accessories.

The Manufacture of Disposable Nappies

While doing some research about reusable cloth nappies, I came across this video about the manufacture of disposable nappies. It is a “how it’s made” style older video from 2011 by the National Geographic. The commentator in this video almost seems in awe about the process involved and he seems to admire how well the sodium polyacrylate works. Very little mention of the rather than the massive negative aspects of disposable nappies, and no mention of the fact that they will be in landfill for up to 500 years. I guess that’s a sign of the times, and how much more aware we are now than we were even just a decade ago...

A few years ago I saw a post on the Johnson and Johnson’s social media pages claiming that the average mum went through 10,000 baby wipes per year changing their babies nappies, so you needed to select an amazing brand like Johnson and Johnson’s... hang on a second... Bragging about 10,000 baby wipes per year per baby?! Talk about an epic social media fail. It was incredibly relieving to see a whole host of comments from truly appalled people, and many parents recommending the use of washable cloth baby wipes.  While the use of washable cloth baby wipes is still pretty small, it is a positive sign that their use is on the increase...
